As part of the installation of the radon mitigation system, we are required to install a sealed sump cover that has a viewing port in it. If your sump already has a sealed cover, we will install a site glass so that you may see inside of it.
Since most people are uncomfortable with removing the sump cover when they need to service the sump, we offer several optional services at the time of the installation of the radon mitigation system.
We can install a new primary sump pump to replace your old sump pump if you wish. Experts agree that sump pumps have an expected lifespan of five to seven years. If your pump is older that that, you may want to ask us about installing a new primary sump pump. We install Zoeller primary sumps as we have great confidence in the brand.
We also install the Basement Watchdog brand of battery backup sump systems. Remember, your primary sump only works when you have power to it. In the event of a storm when you lose power, your primary sump is useless and you will probably flood. A battery backup sump system is the perfect solution.
If you are considering installing either a new primary sump or a backup sump, the best and least expensive time to do it is at the time of your radon mitigation system installation.
